Їх внесок у розвиток вищої медичної освіти, професіоналізм та патріотичне відношення є прикладом для прийдешніх поколінь великого Гіппократа. Національний медичний університет ім. О.О. Богомольця - один з перших навчальних закладів медичної освіти, заснованих на теренах України. Університет, у витоках якого стояли великі вчені - медики В.А. Караваєв, М.І. Пирогов, цього року святкує свій 165-річний ювілей і почитає традиції минулого та примножує здобутки своїх найкращих випускників - заслужених лікарів, вчених, педагогів, відомих в Україні та за кордоном. Вони передають свій досвід та професійну майстерність з покоління в покоління, додаючи з кожним роком нові сторінки в його історію, отже і в розвиток медицини. Хочу від щирого серця привітати багатотисячний колектив з 165-річницею зі дня заснування ВНЗ, який за свою історію підготував сотні тисяч лікарів не тільки для України, а і для 45 країн світу. Бажаю всім натхнення, творчих успіхів, нових здобутків та процвітання.

___The book you now keep in your hands contains very useful and detailed information on well-known physicians, scientific researchers, who have made weighty contribution into development of contemporary medicine of Ukraine and the world. It is very important to remember and to respect our history, because the past forms the future. The book acquaints readers with the history of Bogomoletz National Medical University, whish is consecrated by the lives and deeds of many outstanding actors of the medical science of Ukraine. Their contribution into the development of higher medical education, professionalism and patriotic attitude are examples for future ancestors of Hippocrates the Great. Bogomoletz National Medical University is one of the first institutions of medical education, founded in Ukraine. It is University at the beginning of which great scientists V.A. Karavayev, N.I.Pyrogov were present. This year the University celebrates its 165 years anniversary and keeps the traditions of the past and enhances achievements of its best graduates - Honorary physicians, scientists, teachers, known in Ukraine and abroad. They transfer their experience and professional skill from generation to generation, each year attaching new pages to history, and thus to the development of medicine. I would like sincerely to congratulate many thousand collective of the University with 165-anniversary of foundation of the HEE, which during its history prepared hundred thousand physicians not only for Ukraine but for 45 countries of world as well. I wish inspiration, creative successes, new achievements and prosperity to all of you.
