Управління механізації і автотранспорту (УМіА) створено у складі міжобласного будівельно-монтажного тресту "Західелеватормлинбуд". З 1994 р. - орендне підприємство, з 1997 р. - відкрите акціонерне товариство.
УМіА брало участь у будівництві елеваторів, комбікормових заводів, інших об’єктів агропромислового комплексу та інших галузей народного господарства
у Вінницькій, Хмельницькій, Тернопільській, Закарпатській, Черкаській, Житомирській і Київській областях.
В останні роки Управління механізації і автотранспорту спільно з компанією "Bechtel National" (США) виконувало роботи з демонтажу та утилізації споруд ракетних установок, з корпорацією "Morrison Knudsen" (США) брало участь у будівництві комплексу споруд для прийому та зберігання ракет. Для українсько-авст-рійської фірми "Поділля ОБСТ" проводило роботи
з будівництва заводу фруктових концентратів.
Управління бере участь у роботах із закриття Чорнобильської АЕС, працюючи на об’єктах будівництва заводів з переробки твердих і рідких ядерних відходів, а також
у реструктуризації шахт Донецького регіону. УМіА виконує комплекс підготовчих робіт, земляні роботи з розробки, планування та рекультивації ґрунту, роботи із забивання паль і зміцнення берегів, монтаж металоконструкцій, зведення бетонних і залізобетонних конструкцій, кладку з каменю, цегли і блоків, зведення дерев’яних конструкцій, укладання теплових, водогінних і каналізаційних мереж, монтаж мереж газопостачання, електромонтажні, гідро-
і теплоізоляційні роботи, улаштування покрівель, дорожніх основ і покриттів, будівництво залізничних колій, монтаж (демонтаж) баштових і козлових кранів.
У розпорядженні управління - 12 баштових кранів,
24 одиниці автомобільних, пневмоколісних, гусеничних кранів і кранів на спецшасі, 10 екскаваторів, 6 бульдозерів; бетоновози - 4 м3; автовишки; копрові установки.
УМіА також виконує вантажні автоперевезення територією України та країн СНД. Парк автоколони налічує 73 транспортні засоби: автобетонозмішувачі, цементовози, бензовози, автосамоскиди, тягачі та бортові машини. Майстерні з токарним і моторним цехами дають можливість виконувати середній ремонт з виготовленням і комплектацією окремих вузлів і агрегатів, запасних частин. На території бази розташовано адміністративно-побутовий корпус, утеплені бокси, криті склади.
The department of mechanization and motor transport was created as the part of the inter-oblast building and assembling trust "Zakhidelevatormlynbud". Since 1994 it has been a lease enterprise and since 1997 - the Open Stock Company. The department of mechanization and motor transport participated in the construction of elevators, mixed feed factories, other objects of the agro-industrial complex and other branches of the national economy in Vinnytska, Khmelnytska, Ternopilska, Zakarpatska, Cherkaska, Zhytomyrska and Kyivska oblasts. In recent years the department of mechanization and motor transport together with the company "Bechtel National" (USA) performed the works in dismantling and utilization of the missile facilities. Together with the Corporation "Morrison Knudsen" (USA) it participated in the construction of facilities for receiving and storing missiles. It also performed works in construction of the fruit concentrates factory for the Ukrainian and Austrian firm "Podillya OBST". The department of mechanization and motor transport takes part in closing the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Electric Station, working on the construction sites of solid and liquid nuclear waste processing plants as well as participating in restructuring the mines in Donetsk region. The department of mechanization and motor transport performs a complex of preparation works, ground works in developing, planning and reclaiming of soil, carries our the works in driving piles and reinforcing the banks of reservoirs, assembles metal constructions, erects concrete and reinforced concrete constructions, performs masonry works, brick and block laying, erects wooden constructions, installs heating, water heating and sewage systems, assembles gas supply networks, performs wiring, hydro and heat-insulated works, arranges roofs, road foundations and pavements, builds railway rails, assembles (demolishes) hoisting cranes and traveling-bridge cranes. At the disposal of the department there are 10 hoisting cranes, 24 units of truck cranes, wheel-mounted cranes and crawler cranes as well as cranes on special chassis, 7 excavators and 6 bulldozers.
The department of mechanization and motor transport also performs cargo transportation on the territory of Ukraine and the CIS countries. The fleet amounts to 73 vehicles: truck mixers, cement carriers, gasoline tankers, dump trucks, prime movers and trucks. Workshops with turning shops and motor shops make it possible to perform medium repair with the production and integration of certain units and aggregates as well as spare parts. On the territory of the base there is an administrative and consumer complex, heated premises and roofed warehouses.
