Lesya Ratynska
President
Lesya Ratynska was born on December 2, 1964 in the village of Naguyevychi of the Drohobytskyi district, Lviv region. Graduate of the department of Slavonic languages of the philological faculty of the Lviv State Ivan Franko University. Since 1989 she has been working in the sphere of tourism.
Drohobych district is a territory, that gave the world the Teacher, the Titan, the Great Stonemason - Ivan Franko; the territory, where the word of Franko was born, imbued by the fire of Prometheus, able to warm, give light and burn as a real fire, burn the injustice and offenders, warm the hearts of the decent people, who are not indifferent to the native land, territory, where one can hear the melody of a song, that takes wing from the Carpathians like a golden eagle, the territory, which is the motherland of the diligent talented young people.
In the year of celebration of the 150th anniversary from the day of birth of Ivan Franko there was founded the I. Franko Charity Fund "Posvit", the basic task of which is popularization of life and creativity of the Great Stonemason and assistance to the development of the travel industry in the region.
Creation of the charity fund in the city of youth of Ivan Franko on the eve of celebration of the 150th anniversary from the day of his birth became expedient for assistance to conducting of various measures dedicated to the commemorative date, instrumental for the activity in popularization of talent of Ivan Franko among the habitants and guests of the city. Attraction of travel organizations and close cooperation with them will contribute to the development of the city as a cultural and travel centre.
Posvit (’fire’) - to a wide extent - has a fully determined symbol: continuity of genealogical traditions, saving of ethnic memory, non-silting of spiritual sources. All the best, that passed an ordeal in the hearth of time and remained the golden property from the previous generations, must not only be kept by us, but also become the heritage to our descendants. Speaking figuratively, the fire of posvit is to burn constantly in our modern spiritual dwelling, we bear the great responsibility for its keeping, and the thoughts and aspirations of the great compatriot is that posvit, which is to be supported by us and our descendants.
For providing of implementation of the regulation tasks in October, 2006 the fund created the Tourist centre "POSVIT OF DROHOBYCHYNA", which is engaged in the popularization of the Drohobych territory and the Carpathian region, closely cooperates with the owners of private manors, is the associated member of the Lviv Association of Tourism Development.
In December, 2006 there was signed an agreement with the fund "Beschady for Environment" (Poland). Established close cooperation with the Ukrainian society in Poland: developed tourist routes around the places of life and creativity of Ivan Franko "Open-Air Lessons of Literature" for the Ukrainian philology students of the educational establishments of Poland.
The resort pearl of the Drohobych territory is Skhidnytsia, which is called the "Ukrainian Switzerland" by the holiday-makers. Close cooperation with the owners of private manors and resort hotels, conducting of thematic tours for holiday-makers contribute to the popularization of the territory.
