Association "Airports of Ukraine" of the civil aviation is non-governmental voluntary union created on June 18, 1992 on the conference of representatives and organization of the civil aviation of Ukraine. The Association was created by 17 enterprises of civil aviation. For present the association of airports of Ukraine unites 35 enterprises and organizations, including 24 airports.
The Association cooperates with association "Airport" of the CIS countries with the office in Moscow, the association of airports of Europe "ACI Europe" with office in Brussels.
The association has a Board from 11 enterprises - members of the association, which provides the fulfillment of solutions of the general meeting - the highest body of the association. The general meeting of the association adopts the Statute of the association, introduces changes and additions to it, forms the Board of the association, chooses the President of association, vice-presidents and audits commission; determines main directions of association activity; adopts the Programs of the association and reports of the board and audit commission, adopts the year budget.
In 2000 the attached to the association "Airports of Ukraine" expert centre for certification of subjects of airport activity and aviation land machinery was created and is operating.
During the whole existence the activity of the association "Airports of Ukraine" is closely connected with activity of the civil aviation of Ukraine. It is separation of airports into independent structures, forming of rates and development of methods of airport duties for servicing of airplanes in the airports of Ukraine; development of certification basis with further preparation of certification materials of airports, creation of main documents for conduction of certification of services an airports in general, development of project of laws "About Ukrainian Airports", protection of legal rights and interests of airports-members of association in the state power bodies.
In the nearest years the association "Airports of Ukraine" strives through the State Aviation Service of Ukraine to improve the extremely retarded normative base of airports, solve in the Government of Ukraine concerning state financial support of airports, reduction of taxes for land occupied by the airports and adoption of necessary for operation of airports law "About Ukrainian Airports".
Main task of the association:
- conduction of united scientific and technical policy in the sphere of delve of land base of airports of Ukraine;
- provision of members of association with necessary information in questions of organization and economical activity of the airports;
- protection of legal rights and interests of airports - members of association;
- forming to the order of the members of the association and realization of purpose programs directed at development of land airport base;
- contribution to realization of concept of development of airports, their separation into independent structures;
- support in training of high-qualified personnel;
- creation in the association of creative collectives on the state paying basis for solution of tasks directed at provision of airport activity, development of methods by means of creative collectives;
- participation in conduction of certification of airports and airport services;
- support of the integration of airports of Ukraine into International Airport Activity, etc.
