Alushta Production Enterprise of Plumbing and Sewerage Economy founded on April 29, 1944 is engaged in providing of stable water-supply and sewerage of Great Alushta. This year the PEPDE celebrates its 40th anniversary.
Alushta PEPDE is a modern high efficient enterprise that successfully solves the task of supply of high-quality standard water and sewage treatment. The enterprise carries out communal and domestic water supply, collection, treatment and distributing of water.
Izobilnensky hydrocomplex is engaged in water treatment including a plumbing-treatment station for 40000 cubic metres per day and a storage pool for 12.7 mln cubic metres of water. 8 rapid filters were installed at the water-treatment station. In 2002, according to the laboratory data, indications concerning turbidity of filters No. 6 and No. 7 became considerably worse than other filters. At the examination of rapid filters it was exposed, that on filters No. 6 and No. 7 a filtering bed layer is located not horizontally, both in the left, and in the right part of the filter there were gullies and sand drifts. At washing there was the silting unevenness of filter’s right and left parts. Above mentioned parameters are characteristic for the drainage-distributive filter system, contaminated and out of order. For removal of these factors in 2003 major repairs of filters No. 6 and No. 7 were carried out with installation of new high efficient drainage-distributive systems developed by the production manager of SPF "Ekoton", candidate of technical sciences A.L. Zubko.
Mounting was carried out by specialists of SPF "Ekoton", Kharkiv. Quartz sand was used for the filtering bed.
In 2005 the major repairs of the rapid filter No.1 were carried out. The drainage-distributive system of SPF "Ekoton" was installed in it and quartz sand in filter bed was replaced with filtering anthracite. Application of filtering anthracite will allow increasing general filter contaminant capacity, speed of water filtration, will double the filtration cycle, will reduced the flushing water inputs, will economize electric power consumption. Filtering anthracite is recommended by "UkrkomunNDIprogres" institute for the equipping of rapid one-layer filters. In 2005 at the water-treatment station the major repairs of internal surfaces of coagulant tank-dosing unit were carried out with application of "Viatron" polymeric mixture preventing further destruction of the reinforced concrete which works in aggressive environment.
In 2003 the automation of work of consumer’s department was carried out by the specialists of TPO "Kharkivkomunpromvod". Gratitude of city population for absence of queues and operative work of inspectors and operators became the result of this work. Ecological safety of Black Sea water area in the district of the Southern Crimean Coast in many things depends on reliability of exploitation and work efficiency of the sewerage systems in general and water treatment facilities, in particular. These systems and buildings occupy intermediate position between cities and small settlements. Such systems need some increased attention being paid both namely to sewage treatment, and to dehydration and utilization of precipitations. It requires strict keeping to sanitary requirements and quality norms of treated sewages at their discharge into the sea by means of deep-water dispersion.
At the Master sewage pump station the works at replacement of the physically threadbare and morally out-of-date automation system were carried out together with installation of new one and equipping of a controller’s point. 2 from 8 basic pump aggregates were replaced. The control system for pressure collectors having 700 mm in diameter from the Master sewage pump station to sewage treatment facilities "Alushta" was developed and projected and the chamber for the collectors’ work control in emergency mode was built with installation of high-pressure steel stopcocks and reverse valves, 600 mm in diameter, instead of cast-iron ones and a discharging system to prevent untreated sewage from getting into the sea.
Actual efficiency of sewage treatment facilities of Alushta makes 15-40 thousand cubic m/day. At STF "Alushta" in 2005 major repairs of 3 primary radial sediment tanks were carried out with replacement of out of order metallic constructions with plastic ones, 2 KRD 40 grids were replaced with the modern high efficient SU and SUE grids of SPF "Ekoton", Kharkiv. Replacement of the out of order pipeline was carried out, which had 250 mm in diameter, and was used for delivering of sandy pulp from the sand catchers to the sand grounds.
The biological sewage treatment is carried out at contact-stabilization aeration tanks, which consist of 3 sections, 2 aeration tanks in each. Efficiency of biological sewage treatment section is 5 thousand cubic m/day. At introduction into exploitation of DC "Alushta" aeration tanks were equipped with 12 mechanical aerators of ATZMiTA-2 type. General efficiency of biological sewage treatment facilities made 30 thousand cubic m/day. In 2001 6 mechanical aerators remained in operation, needing greater exploitation expenses. Mechanical aerators were not produced by domestic industry, and foreign analogues needed the greater capital investments. Under the direction of professor, doctor of technical sciences I.M. Tavartkiladze together with ??Koflok" firm, Kyiv, there was developed a project with replacement of ATZMiTA-2 mechanical turbo aerators with the deep aeration system of "INTEX" type ???? brand with installation of 4 submerged pumps of "Flygs" firm. In 2003 the re-equipment of aeration tanks No. 1, No. 2, No. 3, No. 4 was completed. At exploitation of the "INTEX" system aeration tanks exploitation expenses considerably reduced, electric power consumption for the biological treatment decreased almost twice. The specific quantity of electric power for the biological treatment of 1 cubic m of sewage during work with mechanical turbo aerators made 0.243 kWt/1 m, and at the biological treatment with application of the "INTEX" OD system - 36 kWt/1 cubic m. Annual electric power economy made 700 thousand kWt, by this sewage treatment did not become worse, and according to some indexes became better.
Increase of sewage in the summer period for over 30 thousand cubic m demanded making of decision about equipping and putting into operation of aeration tanks No. 5 and No. 6. In 2004 the aeration tank No. 5 was equipped and put into operation, giving a possibility to increase efficiency of STF "Alushta" up to 37 thousand cubic m/day.
For solution of the task of the high-quality sewage treatment at STF "Alushta" during work in the resort season there was made a decision about purchasing of necessary equipment for putting into operation of the aeration tank No. 6. Introduction into work of the aeration tank No. 6 in July 2005 increased efficiency of STF "Alushta" in sewage treatment up to the project one, i.e. 45000 cubic m/day.
Taking into account the peculiarities of exploitation of the sewerage systems and sewage treatment facilities of cities and settlements of the resort area of the Southern Crimean Coast, for the efficient sewage treatment during the resort season at their uneven entry from 15 thousand cubic m/day to 45 thousand cubic m/day during 10-15 days at STF "Alushta" the replacements of 2 crushers’ grids of CRD-40 brand with the grids of SU and SUE brand produced by SPF "Ekoton" was carried out; replacement of a sand way, major repairs of primary sedimentation tanks increased effect of mechanical cleaning from 40% to 70%, and application of the combined aeration system allowed increasing necessary volume of active silt for stable, effective work of aeration tanks and upgrading the effect of incoming sewage treatment to 95-96%, being enough for stable work of the sewerage system of Great Alushta during the resort season, and major repairs of rapid filters at the water-treatment station will improve quality of drinkable water treatment and efficiency of constrictions’ work.
For the improvement of technological processes a sloughy aeration system was brought into action at the sewage treatment facilities of Alushta.
The enterprise was awarded with a diploma for high showings in work, rise of water supply and sewerage level, took the 1st place in the review-contest of enterprises of plumbing-sewerage economies of Ukraine by the totals of 2003 and 2004.
