__He was born in 1952.

__Worked in field geological expeditions. Took part in investigation of some industrial deposits in Ukraine and Russia. Has 31 year of seniority, from them 19 years of fielded one.

__Doctor of geologic-mineralogical sciences, Doctor of geographical sciences, Doctor of engineering sciences, Professor. The honorable scout of interiors (2006). In combination - Professor of chair of hydrogeology of geological faculty of the Shevchenko Kyiv National University, the head of chair of geologic-economic examination of mineral raw materials of Institute of Professional Development "Nadra", the head of chair of ecology of State Ecological Institute of the Ministry of Nature of Ukraine. He was engaged in scientific and pedagogical activity at Chernivtsy and Lviv Universities, Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas, National Transport University.

__He has published over 400 scientific works, from them 25 monographies, 11 textbooks for HEI, 15 pre-prints and brochures, over 20 methodical developments.

__Member of the Special Commission of Experts of the United Nations on harmonization of terminology concerning mineral reserves and resources. Due to his direct participation there was carried out geologic-economic analysis and state estimation of expediency of industrial development of 350 mineral deposits of Ukraine.

__He worked in Kyiv prospecting expedition of trust "Kyivgeology", Right-bank prospecting expedition; institute "Ukrremdorproekt", SGE "Geoforecast". The honorable scout of interiors (1999).

__During work in SCMR of Ukraine he has personally organized and made examination of geologic-economic estimation of reserves of more than 350 deposits of nonmetallic minerals, underground waters and hydro mineral raw materials.

__Honored geologist of Ukraine (1975). The pioneer of mineral deposit (1989). The honorable scout of interiors (1998). He was awarded an award "For merits" of the 3rd category (2004). The Full member of the Ukrainian Oil and Gas Academy (2001). A member of the Special Commission of Experts of the United Nations on harmonization of terminology concerning mineral reserves and resources.

__Due to his direct participation there was carried out geologic-economic analysis and state estimation of expediency of industrial development of 750 mineral deposits of Ukraine, including 90 oil and gas fields.

__The State Commission of Ukraine on Minerals Reserves (SCMR of Ukraine) was formed in April, 1992.

__SCMR of Ukraine spends state expert appraisal of materials of geologic-economic estimation of reserves of mineral deposits, generalizes practice of application of the legislation on questions which are included into its competence, and develops offers concerning its improvement.

__The main task of SCMR of Ukraine is establishment of standards for mineral raw materials for calculation of minerals reserves in interiors and decision-making concerning quantity, quality and degree of knowledge of reserves of the reconnoitered mineral deposits and a condition of their readiness to industrial development.

__The purpose of state expert appraisal and estimation of minerals reserves is: objective estimation of a mineral-raw-material base of the country on the basis of uniform scientifically-methodical criteria; maintenance of reliability of the estimated minerals reserves and conformity of their quality indicators to the planned directions of use; creation of conditions for the fullest, economically rational and complex use of mineral deposit reserves with observance of requirements concerning protection of bowels and a surrounding habitat; carrying out of comparative estimation of quantitative and quality indicators of mineral reserves, their geographical and economic, mining-geological, hydro-geological and other conditions bedding for definition of real industrial value.

__During its existence SCMR of Ukraine has made geologic-economic estimation of 1409 mineral deposits.
