__The Association of Hotel Unions and Hotels of Cities of Ukraine has been created in November, 1990 for the purpose of coordination of economic activities, protection of the rights and interests of participants. The association is a public voluntary union, which structure includes over 200 collectives of the enterprises (associations, establishments, societies) and other organizations connected with hotel industry.

__For today the Association structure includes the leading hotel enterprises of different departments and patterns of ownership, in particular a hotel complex "Natsionalnyi", CJSC "President-Hotel" Kyiv ", OJSC "Hotel "Premier-Palace", hotel complexes "Kyiv", "Salute", hotel "Ukraine" (Kyiv), hotel "Kharkiv" (Kharkiv), "Bryhantyna" (Kherson), "Dnipro" (Cherkasy), "Druzhba" (Donetsk), Academy of housing and communal services (Kharkiv), Kyiv National Trade and Economic University, Kyiv University of Tourism, Economy and Right, other hotels and commercial structures which grant services to the hotels.

__The association carries out activity on propagation and generalization of the best practices of activity of the hotel enterprises, gives methodical and a legal aid on problems of privatization and share-holding, assists solving questions of material support, maintains industrial relations with foreign firms, organizes trips of experts abroad - for exchange of the best practices of work.

__Throughout eight years the Association together with the State Housing and Communal Service of Ukraine and the Central Committee of trade union of workers of housing and communal services have developed the decree about annual survey-competition for the best hotel enterprise at qualitative service of people with rewarding labour collectives with the Certificates of honor, monetary awards and memorable cups. Direction of cities and oblasts are informed on the results of survey-competition for rewarding the best workers. During several years the first places are successively occupied by the hotels "Natsionalnyi", Premier-Palace", "President-Hotel" Kyivskyi" (Kyiv), "Dnipro" (Cherkasy), etc.

__Due to petition of management of the Association and representations of local authorities 80 workers - members of the Association were given the rank "Honored worker of service sphere of Ukraine", 18 were rewarded the awards, in particular three awards of full gentlemen "For merits".

__For the purpose of encouragement the best workers of hotels were given the rank "Honorary member of the Association of Hotel Unions and Hotels of Cities of Ukraine" that gives the established privileges.

__At the initiative of the Association management there has been created the branch "Building and reconstruction of objects of tourist and hotel appointment" at the Academy of Building of Ukraine.

__For today there are 34 academicians and 14 corresponding members - the most qualified specialists - heads of the hotel enterprises of Ukraine. For the first time in Ukraine at the Ukrainian union of industrialists and businessmen (the Association is a collective member of it) there has been created the Commission concerning development of tourism and hotel area which structure includes specialists and representatives of the government; for five years the professional magazine "Hotel and Restaurant Business" is published.

__Work on development, statement and maintenance of hotels with statutory acts lasts.

__For last years there were developed and confirmed Instructions for using hotels and granting hotel services in Ukraine, Recommendations at transition of the state hotels in the course of privatization into open joint-stock companies, Forms of documents of the primary account and Instruction on order of document circulation during granting hotel services, etc.

__At direct participation of M.I. Yevdokymenko the international exhibitions on hotel economy, annual conferences of workers of hotel and restaurant economy "Industry of Hospitality" are conducted in Ukraine. The association took part in the International tourist salon "Ukraine 2007".

__VII International professional forum of workers of hotels and restaurants "Industry of Hospitality 2007" was held in Kyiv in the hotel "Dnipro" and the hotel Hayatt Regency Kyiv in October, 2007. Questions of efficiency of management of a company, investments into hotel industry, and effectiveness of marketing technologies were discussed during forum. At support of the Association of Hotel Unions and Hotels of Cities of Ukraine the heads of hotels are trained in the USA and other countries.
