__Grygoriy Mykhailovych Sedilo is a doctor of agricultural sciences, the director of institute, a head of the Center of scientific maintenance of Lviv oblast, the chairman of the Academic council of institute, a member of Specialized academic council of Institute of biology of animals of UAAS on defending of theses for a doctor’s degree, a member of Presidium of UAAS, an adviser of Lviv OSA concerning agrarian and industrial complex, the author of over 70 scientific works (in particular four monographies). Under his management the program of development of sheep breeding in the economies of low and mountain zone of Carpathians, the program of development of a water fowl in Lviv oblast till 2015 and the integrated program of development of the territorial rural communities is developed, noted with the diploma of the Exhibition of achievements of a national economy in 2007. For the powerful contribution to development of an agrarian science he was awarded an Honorable award of UAAS. The institute of farming agriculture and animal industry of the Western region of the Ukrainian academy of agrarian sciences is a key state coordinating research establishment in the western region on fundamental and applied problems of the science, which was created in 1956 on the basis of Lvov research station of field husbandry and agrobiology Institute. The institute carries out functions of the Center of scientific maintenance of AIP of Lviv oblast that gives the qualified consultations concerning agriculture, plant growing, forage manufacture, seed-growing, protection of agricultural crops against illnesses, weeds and wreckers, from different areas of animal industries, veterinary service. In institute submission there are three enterprises "Research economy" Obroshyno "," Research economy "Radekhivske", " Research economy " Husyatychy" and Prykarpattia research station. Main areas of work of institute are:

__- Selection in plant growing and animal industries,

__- Creation of new grades, breeds and lines of animals.

__The institute co-operates with scientific institutes of the USA, Canada, Germany, France, Austria, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Holland, Australia, the CIS countries concerning agriculture and animal industries.
