__Joint-stock fishing company "Antarctic" begins its history on November, 18th, 1932. Since 1932 till 1994 the manufacture structure and the enterprise name changed. In 1994 the pattern of ownership becomes collective. Now the company is engaged in extraction and processing of fish, the ship repair, growing transfer of cargoes, it has social sphere and real prospects for fleet development, expands spheres of manufacture and the services, working on holding structure. In the structure of the joint-stock fishing company there is fishing fleet, transport refrigerators, Ilichivsk sea fish port, fish processing factory, ship repair manufacture, three recreation centers, children’s improving camp. Today main task of FE "Antarctic" is to supervise and co-ordinate work of all divisions and enterprises, development and introduction of investment projects, modernization of existing capacities, introduction of new and progressive kinds of the equipment and technologies, search of partners-investors for all divisionsl, as well as direct development of the holding and all its divisions. FE "Antarctic" has under management large-capacity fishing craft-trailers which provide extraction of oceanic breeds of fish in waters along the coast of the Western Africa. The general extraction of fish is about 100 thousand tons a year. Finished goods are the frozen raw and processed fish in assortment - a sardine, sardinella, a mackerel, a jack mackerel, by-catch. Packing - cardboard boxes of 30 (3x10) kg net. Each block of the frozen fish is additionally packed into a polyethylene bag. Deliveries of the frozen fish it is carried out directly from fishing trawlers from catching places or from a refrigerator in Ilyichivsk sea fish port. Fish with mechanical damages, small-size fish and a waste from processing of fish are gathered and processed on fodder fish flour and fish technical fat that are valuable products. Since 2003 the company directs one trawler of extraction of northern shrimp in waters of Northwest Atlantic. Output - nearby 500 tons of boiled-frozen shrimps. Processing factory "Antarctic" is modernized under production, corresponding to the European standards. The company pays the big attention to increase quality of production from fish and to improvement of an overall performance of fishing crafts. In 2005 the company has done full modernization of fishing trawler "Valery Kravchenko".at the port Szczecin (Poland). It has given the chance to increase release of the frozen fish with 70 to 110 tons a day. In 2006 the company has carried out modernization of a trawler "Jupiter". The modernization of fish factory and the equipment was made and that has given the chance to increase productivity from 65 to 160 tons a day, as well as it had been replaced two auxiliary diesel engines-generators for increase of capacity of a power plant of a craft. The modern equipment of fish search and catch, radio-and navigating the equipment is established on trawlers. After modernization fishing trawlers meet all requirements of a line of the European Union for the food enterprises. The company is planning to modernize all fishing trawlers, which are in its property.
