__Viacheslav Andriyovych Danilenko is the head of Division of Explosion Geodynamics (DEG), the deputy director on scientific work of S.I. Subbotin Institute of Geophysics of NAS of Ukraine (IGP) (since 1985 up till today).

__He was born on October, 27th, 1946. Has graduated from Moscow Engineering-Physical Institute (1974). Doctor of physical and mathematical sciences (1985), corresponding member of NAS of Ukraine (1995). The author of over 300 scientific works, has copyright certificates and patents for inventions.

__The famous specialist in explosion physics of non-linear nonequilibrium dynamic systems and physics of rapid processes, dynamics of nonequilibrium structured media, theory of self-organizing and non-linear wave processes in nonequilibrium active media.

__V.A. Danilenko has received a number of new scientific results: he has discovered new types of non-linear waves in heterogeneous active media (pulsing and spin waves), has generalized mathematical theories of thermal explosion of Y.B. Zeldovych and O.A. Samarskyi’s structures, has constructed the theory of self-organizing of nonequilibrium media taking into account effects of nonlocality, memory and structure.

__The scientist makes many efforts to organizational and scientific activity as the deputy chairman of the Interstate council of the Academy of Sciences of the CIS countries on problems "Theoretical bases of rapid processes" and "Theory of processes of self-organizing", a member of editorial boards of magazines "Physics of burning and explosion" (Russia), "Magazine of applied mathematics and the technical physics" (Russia), "Geophysical magazine" (Ukraine), a member of Specialized Council at S.I. Subbotin Institute of Geophysics of NAS of Ukraine, a member of the council of experts of the Academy of Sciences of the CIS countries at M.O. Lavrentiev Institute of Hydrodynamics of the Russian Academy of Sciences and M.M. Semenov Institute of Chemical Physics of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

__V.A. Danilenko pays considerable attention to preparation and education of scientific workers. He has prepares 10 doctors and 12 candidates of sciences.

__Section of Explosion Geodynamics of IGP (in 1981 renamed into Division of Explosion Geodynamics) has been founded in 1975 on the basis of departments of hydrodynamics of explosive processes and rock dynamics.

__The Division carried out complex researches on a problem of working out of the forced ways of building of hydromeliorative objects on the basis of complex-mechanized technologies of carrying out of excavations with use of explosion energy. Division of Explosion Geodynamics has developed more than 30 technologies, machines and mechanisms which are entered into many enterprises of the former USSR.

__On the basis of the results of basic researches performed under the guidance of V.A. Danilenko, for last 15 years in DEG there were developed new technologies of intensification of extraction of various minerals (oil, gas, water, sulphur, uranium); there were created chambers of high pressure of new generation which opens new possibilities of research of geophysical media in a wide range of pressure and temperatures; there were developed and entered the technological complex for intensification of extraction of energy carriers.

__The priority directions of scientific researches of Division of Explosion Geodynamics: working out of scientific bases of non-linear, nonequilibrium geodynamics and working out of the newest technologies and technics for intensification of extraction of energy carriers.
