__Dmytro Oleksandrovych Yeher was born in 1948. In 1972 he has graduated with honors from Ivano-Frankivsk Institute of Oil and Gas on a specialty "Technology and complex mechanization of development of oil and gas deposits". That time he has started scientific and engineering activity in the State production association "Ukrnafta" where he help the posts of the engineer, the senior engineer, the chief of the laboratory, the chief of the department CNDL, the head of scientific and technical department (Ivano-Frankivsk).

__Dmytro Oleksandrovych is a well-known scientist in the sphere and the head of industrial and research structures. He has successfully defended the master’s thesis "Methods of increase of boreholes’ productivity" in 1981 and since then he continues to develop research in directions of the solution of perspective branch tasks.

__He has 127 published scientific works, 11 of them are monographies. In 2004 he has defended the dissertation for getting the scientific degree of a Dr.Sci.Tech., in 2006 he was elected corresponding member of NAS of Ukraine.

__The subsidiary enterprise "Scientific Research Institute of Oil and Gas Industry" of the National Joint-Stock Company "Naftogaz of Ukraine" (SE "Naukanaftogaz" of NJSC "Naftogaz of Ukraine") was created according to the decision of the supervisory board of NJSC "Naftogaz of Ukraine" (the report No. 24 from August, 5, 2003) by reorganization of subsections of the Company.

__Pattern of ownership - nation-wide.

__Enterprise activity is connected to organization, holding of research works on working out, realization and monitoring of a uniform, purposeful scientific and technical and innovative policy in the sphere of manufacture and management of processes of geological studying and investigation of concentrations of hydrocarbons, designing and highly effective development of deposits, gathering, preparation and processing of gas, gas condensate and oil, their transportation, storage and realization.

__The structure of SE "Naukanaftogaz" includes:

__- Branch "Ukrainian scientific research institute of natural gases";

__- Branch "Research and design institute of the automated control systems of transport of gas";

__- The department of information-analytical and geologic-geophysical researches;

__- Branch "Karpatsky department".

__Research works are performed by collective of skilled scientific and highly professional specialists of oil and gas sphere.

__At the Institute there are about 1380 persons at 22 specialties of oil and gas industry among which 17 persons have scientific degree of doctor, 79 - candidates of sciences and 8 persons have a rank of professor.

__For preparation of scientific personnel of higher qualification in SE "Naukanaftogaz" there was opened constantly operating postgraduate study in engineering science on a specialty 05.15.06 "Working out of oil and gas deposits" and geological sciences on a specialty 04.00.17 "Geology of oil and gas".

__By Decree of presidium of HCC of Ukraine the Institute was included to the list of the leading institutions for carrying out of examination of dissertations.

__SE "Naukanaftogaz" is the central organization of oil and gas complex of Ukraine concerning working out and operation of gas deposits, oil and gas geology and transportation of hydrocarbons.

__At the Institute there is a Specialized Academic Council with the right of taking cognizance and carrying out of defense of dissertations for getting the scientific degree of a Dr.Sci.Tech. on a specialty 05.10.06 "Working out of oil and gas deposits".
