__Today the structure of state sanitary-epidemiological service of Odessa region includes regional, 4 municipal, 34 district sanitary-epidemiological stations and municipal association "Medical disinfection". The staff of the service consists of over

__2000 workers.

__The chief state health officer of Odessa region Liubov Zasypka is a head of regional sanitary-epidemiological service since 1992. Today’s leader - honoured doctor of Ukraine, doctor of higher category of organization and management of health protection and leader of health protection - was the eye-witness of difficult years of the young independent state becoming. During general crisis of stereotypes, economic instability and political agitation she managed to save sanitary-epidemiological service of the region at the level, that provides its fruitful work in favour of the country. Due to the policy of sanitary-epidemiological service its core was well-kept, directions of activity were perfected, organization of the centralized laboratory base was finished (before it the laboratories were small, separate, and could not work according to modern requirements). Today the centralized immune virology laboratory with AIDS diagnostics of Odessa regional sanitary-epidemiological station enters the structure of several most important laboratories in Ukraine (the head of the laboratory is L. Kotlik). At the end of 90s Odessa laboratory of sanitary-epidemiological station was accredited by the Regional Bureaus of World Organization of Health Protection, and according to the resolution of Ministry of health and decision of Regional Bureau of World Organization of Health Protection the laboratory entered the network of reference-laboratories of poliomyelitis diagnostics. The laboratory of Odessa regional sanitary-epidemiological station is the complex of buildings with all necessary modern equipment. There are the specialists of the highest level, who analyze materials of almost third of sanitary-epidemiological stations of the country, because the tests come to the laboratory from 10 regions.
