__Yevgen Denysenko

__Director

__Yevgen Denysenko is a director of regional museum of local lore since 1998. He is an honoured worker of culture, awarded the order "For the merits" of the III and II degrees. He is a head of scientific council of the museum and scientific consultant of scientific collections of the museum: "Archaeological anthology", "Donbas chronicles", and photo albums "Legends of steppe", "Treasury of Donetsk land", "We are from Ukraine", "Museums of Donetsk region", "Ukrainian region of Donbas", etc. Since 1998 three international conferences, international congress "Palaeolith of Left-Bank Ukraine" and five international expeditions on the territory of Donetsk region were held on the base of the museum. Y. Denysenko constantly realizes production of plays in theatres of Ukraine, Russia (Saint Petersburg), direction of folk festivals in Europe (Spain, Germany, Finland) and USA, cultural events dedicated to Olympic Games. He is an author of recitals and readings of the art masters and artistic collectives of Donetsk region in Kyiv.

__Donetsk regional museum of local lore is one of the largest museums in Ukraine and was founded in December of 1924. Its visiting card is a stone sculpture of Scythian culture. Fund collection of the museum represents a real treasury with over 134 thousand museum exhibits. Museum rarities include materials, worldwide known paleolithic settlements, unique shrouds of Christ of the 18th century, ethnographic collections, photos and documents. Nature, history and culture of the region from ancient times to present days are represented in 30 exposition halls.

__The museum is well-known as a significant research centre of Ukraine. Presently it introduces new original ways of elucidative and pedagogic work - festivals of national cultures, traditional celebrations of folk almanac, different educative museum programs: museum social project "Kindness", project "Museum treasures", museum project for children "Museumland" - winner of the contest on the best museum project of 2006 and laureate of the program of support of museum workers of 2007-2008 of International Charitable Fond "Ukraine 3000".

__The museum is a multi-direction cultural complex of local lore, that also includes memorial museums of prominent figures of culture of the 20th century: composer S. Prokofiev, figure of theatre

__V. Nemyrovych-Danchenko and unique forest museum in Velykoanadolskyi forestry.

__In 2000 the museum was awarded the diploma of International Festival "Golden Scythian" in nomination "For development of culture of the region", and in 2002 the museum received regional award "Golden Scythian" in nomination "For contribution to spiritual education of the region".
