__According to one of the legends Skadovsk appeared accidentally. On ecan get much more information about 100 hundred years of Skadovsk history by visiting district museum.

__The port that started its history in 1893 became overgrown with administrative buildings and houses in the course of time, swimming baths were built for rich citizens. The first visitors came there not only to breathe fresh air and have a rest, but also to improve their health. Curing climate of Skadovsk helped recovery and rehabilitation of tuberculosis patients.

__Modern Skadovsk has more advantages for recovery and rest. Visitors can stay with one of sanatoriums or rest homes if they want. There are 47 resort houses, sanatoriums and children health-improving establishments for 8455 people. Last year about 140 thousand people had a rest in Skadovsk. People who are fond of disorganized rest are provided with many hotels of family type with pools and saunas, and private sector. Each Ukrainian family with any income level can rest and enjoy themselves there during vacation.

__Climate conditions and chemical content of water, and also shallow waters of Dzharylgach cove perfect family rest. There is everything necessary for a brilliant rest: modern beaches, children playgrounds and entertaining grounds, Luna Park, non-alcoholic caf?, night discos on a boat in open sea and bars with dance music, cinema for demonstration of wide-frame films, Internet-clubs and cafes. Special kind of unique rest is a journey to Dzharylgach Island. Sea voyage on a boat in the company of dolphins and seagulls will leave unforgettable memories. While being on the island it is possible to swim in open sea, to enjoy picturesque landscapes and to visit the lighthouse built in France in the beginning of the last century and that still remembers port founder S. Skadovskyi.

__Tourists are offered excursions on comfortable buses with conditioners to Crimea, Ascania Nova and by sea to Turkey. Sea port of Skadovsk received a status of international ten years ago. In 2008 sea trade port plans to build additional berth to receive one more ferry.

__Modern Skadovsk became well-known in Ukraine due to children festival "Black Sea games". Oleksandr Panayotov, Tina Karol, Mika Newton and Rostyslav Todoresku once took part in these events and became prize-winners.

__Lovers of extreme rest can see Skadovsk from bird’s-eye view and jump with parachute, and can surf in open sea near Dzharylgach Island.

__Skadovsk is a private and hospitable place, where only unforgettable bright memories are remained. That is why the only answer on the question: "Where should we rest?" is "In Skadovsk!"
