__CE "Mariupol Production Department of Plumbing and Drainage Economy" is one of the largest enterprises of the Donetsk region and provides services to 416336 consumers. It is the complex of objects and constructions: 6 plumbing pump stations; 19 drainage pump stations; sewage biological treatment station, power - 217 thousand m3/day; 50 step-up pump stations.

__The enterprise has 6 areas for service and repair of plumbing and drainage networks: plumbing system length - 1694.4 km; drainage - 633.4 km. Average counted quantity of workers of the enterprise makes 1513 persons. The CE "MPD PDE" headed by V.D. Malykhin pays a lot of attention to improvement of production organization, rise of work efficiency, improvement of service quality in water-supply and drainage, environmental protection. For reduction of unproductive water losses the enterprise conducts the work at improvement of the plumbing system state. Replacement of up to 40 km of plumbing networks is annually carried out: thus, in 2004 36.1 km were replaced, in 2005 - 37.2 km. At the enterprise the economy effort is introduced by means of energy saving equipment, such as the current frequency transformers for regulation of electric motors work, aggregates with advanced coefficient of efficiency and smooth start control, switch of pump stations work to the automatic mode of operations, establishment of water calculating devices. For today the percent of general house water metres introduction makes 96.5%, flat ones - 47%, 103 village water metres were installed.

__In the structure of expenses at the enterprise the electric power expenditures went down from 25% in 2000 to 16.3% in 2005.

__CE "MPD PDE" conducts purposeful work at the improvement of the financial state of the enterprise. One of basic questions in this direction is rise of level of payments for provided services. For the last three years the payment made by population exceeds one hundred percents, in 2005 year - 106.1%. It allowed the enterprise in the recent year to provide hundred-per-cent payment for power mediums, including bought water. 4 investment projects were introduced at the enterprise under the direction of V.D. Malykhin: "Reconstruction of the drainage pump station No. 5а" on Switzerland government grant. The purpose of the project is providing of Mariupol ecological safety. The equipment installed at the station is unique and has no analogues in Ukraine. Work of DPS-5A aggregates allows saving 21% of electric power to the volume of consumed electric power during work of DPS-5 aggregates. The annual electric power economy from introduction of equipment makes 1800 thousand kWt/hour. "Infrastructure improvement and services quality up grading, on the ТАСІС program". During realization of investment project the program for consumer department was improved, which allows automation of the process of billing for all consumers, control the timeliness of service payment. The computers of the geoinformational system (GIS) were installed, allowing saving different types of information, including the sampling points, pipelines data. The work of mobile searching squad equipped with the modern equipment, including the complete CCTV set (internal control television equipment) was organized allowing conducting research of the internal state of d 150:600 mm pipelines and collectors with computer processing and image fixing using a video recorder, enabling analysis of hidden processes in time and make repairs in the shortest terms; "Improvement of the Sea of Azov coast state and prevention of its contamination in Mariupol area by means of treatment efficiency increase of sewages discharged into the Sea of Azov". The main task of the project is reduction of contaminating substances content discharged into the Sea of Azov after sewage treatment of Mariupol city drainage system by means of aeration system reconstruction at the biological treatment station. In the course of the project in 2002 replacement of filtering plates with tubular aerators in 20502 m3 aeration displacer tank was carried out, and in 2004 replacement in two 12470 m3 aeration mixer tanks was carried out; "Development of hydraulic model of water-supply networks for CE "MPD PDE". The purpose of the project is creation of hydraulic model of Mariupol plumbing networks with the use of "Epanet", "ArcView", "DC Water" programs. This software allowed creation and combination with the city map the water-supply scheme with detailing of networks (stop valves, water-gauge units, fire-hydrants).

__The enterprise has been stably working for 15 years, constantly copes with fulfillment of technical-economic and quality work indexes. Therefore the collective of the CE "Mariupol Production Department of Plumbing and Drainage Economy" was repeatedly awarded with prizes. Thus, in 2002 the CE "MPD PDE" collective took first place in Ukraine in the review-contest conducted in Kyiv, and in 2004 the enterprise got the title "Leading Enterprise of Ukraine".
