__SCE Sevastopol City Vodokanal is one of the leading enterprises in the system of communal economy of the city and Ukraine. The main task of the Vodokanal is providing of citizens and enterprises of the city with quality drinking water, carries out wastewater sewerage and clearing.

__In the centralized water supply system the enterprise exploits and maintains 6 local water sourses with Chernorechenskoe storage pool being the main one; 2 additional ones: Vilinskiy water inlet and Mezhgornoe storage pool (reserve one); 22 hydrosystems; 20 pump waterworks; 37 wells; 869.658 km of plumbing networks. Every day 160-170 thousand cubic m of water are delivered to the city.

__In the sewerage system there are 6 sewage treatment facilities with the total productivity of 130-160 thousand cubic m per day; 30 sewerage pump stations; 19.12 km of gravity flow sewerage tunnel collectors and 506.28 km of sewerage pipelines.

__For round-the-clock water-supply of the citizens with drinking-water at the HS No. 7, HS No. 17, HS No. 19, HS No. 20 objects the automated control systems for the pump stations were introduced. Presently 92 % of citizens, being the consumers of SCE "Sevmiskvodokanal", get water round-the-clock.

__For energy saving the SIEMENS multi-tariff meters of electric power consumption were inculcated, "Korshun" laboratory has been purchased and is used for the inspection of plumbing networks, removal of leaks and reduction of water losses.

__In the water preparation system a new "Polvak" coagulant is applied, allowing improving drinking-water quality compared with previously applied reagents. In the field of sewerage for the improvement of sewage treatment degree, electric power economy and reduction of operating costs replacement of steel aerators with "EKOTON" polymeric aerators was carried out. The reconstruction of the aeration system allowed to improve quality sewage treatment, to save up to 390 thousand kWt/hour of electric power per year. At sewage treatment facilities No. 1 "Yuzhnye" new "EKOTON" sewerage mechanized grids were installed, resulting in increase of quantity of trapping wastes by 6-8 times.

__In 2005 the collective of SCE "Sevmiskvodokanal" celebrated its 80th anniversary. For the achieved progress in work SCE "Sevmiskvodokanal" collective was award with an order "SIGN of HONOUR" in 1971. In 2004 SCE "Sevmiskvodokanal" was awarded with the diploma of "Leading Enterprise of the Branch", it was announced the winner of the All-Ukrainian Production Quality Contest "100 Best Products of Ukraine - 2004", it became a laureate of the international prize "European Quality". In 2006 the enterprise was awarded with the diploma of the Sevastopol City Council and Sevastopol City State Administration, being presented with a memorable sign "For Merits before Cities".

__For solution of a number of ecological tasks in Sevastopol the investments are needed. This is:

__- development and introduction of alternative water-supply variant of Sevastopol: realization of project on building of a new treatment facilities in the area of Chernorechenskoe storage pool, two transport waterways 26 km long, with 1200 mm in diameter for gravity flow water supply to the city;

__- reconstruction, building and introduction into exploitation of the sewerage treatment facilities No. 1 "Yuzhnye" with biological treatment.
